BABIES DESERVE TO FEEL GOOD!

Get peace of mind about your child’s movement, feeding, and development

At Progress Through Play we believe that milestones shouldn’t be a mystery and that babies deserve to feel good in their bodies so they can breathe, eat, sleep, poop and play with ease.

We are a holistic and collaborative infant therapy practice focusing on a full body approach to infant feeding, movement, and milestones. We offer a combination of bodywork (myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and infant massage) along with oral motor therapy and functional therapeutic exercise for motor milestones.

Whether you’re needing expert care and treatment for torticollis, head flattening, colic, body tension, developmental delays, bodywork and pre/post-frenectomy therapies for tongue-tie, tummy time trouble-shooting, or just need some help understanding how to best support your child’s milestones we are here to support you with a focus on connection and purposeful play.

Are you ready to approach your baby’s MOVEMENT AND milestones with curiosity instead of concern?

Hi, I’m Dr. Brita DeStefano PT, DPT

MEET THE OWNER

I’m a Denver based pediatric physical therapist and craniosacral fascial therapist and mom of two big kids (11 and 9). I am an expert in infant development and am passionate about helping babies feel good and move well so that they (and their families) can thrive!

After working as a physical therapist in a traditional clinic setting and becoming a parent myself, I recognized the gap in availability for proactive early intervention when infants are struggling to move and function. Progress Through Play was created to bridge that gap.

When we work together, you’re choosing a provider who will really listen to your concerns and help you find solutions and peace of mind. My approach is hands-on and individualized for each child that walks through my door. Our sessions are never rushed and are focused on helping you deeply understand your child’s body and their development while fostering purposeful play to deepen your connection. I promise to celebrate each and every bit of progress along the way and be your child’s biggest cheerleader.

My goal is to give you peace of mind and a greater understanding of your child’s development while helping them find joy in movement and feel good in their body.

"Thank you for the session today! You have no idea how much peace of mind you've given me. There's been so many things I've worried about with [my child], and after today I feel like they are all a part of this big puzzle related to her tongue tie and tightness. I'm so excited to start working with her and move toward getting her better with some of this stuff!"

kind words for our expert pediatric PTs and OT

  • "Brita has the rare trifecta: impeccable PT knowledge and skill, a magician with babies' plethora of personalities, and a wonderful communicator/empathizer/human who is a true pleasure to be around. I was amazed at what I didn't know and wouldn't have known had I not had her over to assess our twins. A few treatments later and I feel like we avoided a lot of future major trouble by addressing minor issues early. So glad I brought Brita into the family!"

  • We are so incredibly grateful for Progress Through Play and especially Dr. Nicole. She worked with my son from 3 months to around 11 months, when he started walking, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. As a first-time mom, I had a lot of anxiety, and Dr. Nicole never made me feel like my questions or concerns were too small. She took the time to listen, explain everything thoroughly, and reassure me while always keeping my son's best interests at the center of our visits.

  • Dr. Rebecca is nothing short of extraordinary. She has such a kind, patient temperament, and it’s clear she genuinely loves working with babies. It’s been a pleasure getting to know her and partnering with her on my little boy’s progress. We’ve felt supported every step of the way and are so grateful for her care.

  • Working with Maura was such a blessing for our family and for our little boy who had some feeding issues from birth. We struggled with breastfeeding and poor milk transfer from the first week and saw multiple lactation consultants and everyone had blamed me and I was even put on medication for poor milk supply. Around six weeks post partum, my doula suggested I get an OT consult. Turns out our little boy had some right sided tension and oral dysfunction which had most likely led to my body not getting the signal to produce more milk. Maura came to our house and worked with our son weekly and then bi weekly until it resolved around 11 weeks. My only regret was not getting the consult sooner and perhaps breastfeeding could have been saved! I highly, highly recommend getting a consult.

  • We’ve worked with Dr Brita and Dr Nicole. They are both so knowledgeable and have helped us through gassiness and eventual tongue tie release. I especially love the classes they offer. Even if it’s not your first baby you will learn something new from their perspectives as PTs! I feel so much more confident playing with my baby. For tongue tie issues I really appreciated that Dr Brita walked us through all options before we decided to do the procedure. The support group is also great for anyone pre/post release.

Why Progress Through Play?

Progress Through Play is a holistic pediatric therapy practice rooted in the belief that a baby’s development is about so much more than hitting milestones—it’s about connection, regulation, and whole-body wellness. We specialize in supporting infants with feeding challenges, oral ties, torticollis, flat head shapes, tummy time struggles and motor delays, using a gentle, individualized approach that honors the baby’s nervous system and the caregiver’s intuition. What sets us apart is the time and space we give to each family. Sessions are unhurried, play-based, and deeply collaborative. We believe healing and progress happen best when parents feel empowered and babies feel safe.

Let us help you demystify development and create a deeper connection with your child through purposeful play.

“Babies may not be able to speak but their bodies communicate a plethora of information, we just have to listen. As an expert in infant bodywork and milestone development, I am able to really listen and put the puzzle pieces together for families to better understand how and why their baby may be struggling and what are the actionable ways we can best support them moving forward. ”
