Dr. Nicole mcquade

Hi, I’m Dr. Nicole McQuade, a pediatric physical therapist. After finishing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, I worked in an outpatient setting before ultimately deciding to focus on pediatrics. I have spent the past 5 years working in home health with children with a variety of diagnoses, ages 0-18 years. I am passionate about reducing the stress that revolves around gross motor development and giving parents bite sized strategies to aid in the improvement of their babies’ development.

After the birth of my first child in the heart of 2020, we struggled with significant oral ties and breastfeeding challenges contributing to parent overwhelm. Although I had access to many providers and a solid background in pediatrics, I did not know who to turn to and where to look for help. After piecing together an interdisciplinary team, my son’s feeding challenges resolved. My second son was born in 2022 with Torticollis. After talking with many other parents, I quickly realized how common these concerns were leaving families frustrated and overwhelmed with feeding challenges and overall gross motor delay. I decided to make it my mission to help improve the well-being of babies as well as ease some of the stress in the early stages of parenthood. My background as a pediatric physical therapist and my experience as a mom has led to my passion for working with babies with Torticollis, Plagiocephaly and gross motor delays as well as educating the community about the importance of early intervention and easing milestone anxiety. I can’t wait to work with you and your family!

  • Nicole came to our house to do in-home PT with my daughter. She has been absolutely amazing! Timely, responsive, and my daughter has made more progress with Nicole in 3 sessions than she did at an in-office PT over 5 months. Would recommend to anyone looking for a kind, knowledgeable, attentive baby/kids PT!

  • We have been working with Nicole for my 10 month old’s hypertonia and gross motor delays, and she has been OUTSTANDING. I truly cannot say enough about our experience. Nicole is patient, listens to this mama’s worries, she has a gentle approach and eases into difficult movements for my daughter with grace, she is incredibly knowledgeable and provides resources and exercises to help our daughter reach her milestones/goals. Nicole has made such a huge impact in my daughter’s life… we could not be more grateful for her and our experience with PTP.

THE PTP Approach

We provide evidence-based care and physical therapy, but working with Progress Through Play is different from a traditional physical therapy clinic. Our approach is holistic and very personalized. Each appointment is an hour. There are no long wait times. There is no “qualifying for services” as we believe anyone with questions about their child’s development should be able to get support.

We believe babies deserve to feel good in their bodies. We enjoy playing detective to help determine the reason for a baby's struggles. And we believe that families are an integral part of helping their babies reach their developmental goals. Sessions with us are always focused on a baby’s strengths and we will use activities that they are motivated by to achieve goals. We always spend time explaining the "why" behind what we do. We think families deserve to know the exact reasoning for all of our recommendations. We love teaching and don't want parents to ever need to google anything when we're working together. Appointments with us help decrease a parent’s worries, concerns, and stress level.

Children learn through movement and they deserve to feel good doing it! And parents deserve to feel supported and validated when they have concerns about their child's development.

Milestones shouldn’t be a mystery. Let US help you gain peace of mind and a closer connection with your child through purposeful play.

Let’s PLAY!
